How Small Business Entrepreneurs Attract Success

Monday, March 29th, 2010

Perhaps you’re new to business. Or maybe you already own your own business - you just wish it were doing better. Either way, the Law of Attraction sees you as already abundantly successful. Keep reading and discover why.

I don’t claim this as a way to brainwash your mind through law of attraction fantasies (they aren’t very effective, as you may have experienced). The only reason I say it is that, as far as the universe is concerned, it’s the truth. Which gives you the opportunity to know it as truth also.

All you have to do is start to see your life through the eyes of your Inner Being, or soul.

When any person reaches the stage where becoming a business owner emerges as their preferred path ahead in life it’s such a stand-out win for self determination that the entire universe celebrates.

This is the case even if it looks like you got laid off, or you searched for a job for a year and couldn’t find one, and now becoming a small business entrepreneur seems like your only possibility.

When you see your life that way - through whatever circumstances you appear to find yourself in - you’re overlooking the major reason for turning to the law of attraction. Which is: knowing that when you ask the universe says yes. You now have the chance to experience the truth of universal law acting in your life.

Once you see how the universe loves and supports you always, you step into a place of freedom and inner security that’s yours forever. Why not allow yourself to receive your security from the universe and life from that awareness now?

As a small business entrepreneur you’ve already taken the most important step in attracting success. The fact that you are in a position to own (or plan to own) a business is evidence you’ve already succeeded beyond the dreams of nearly everyone on the planet. At the level of your soul, you’ve asked for the self expression, freedom, and opportunity to serve that small business owners are blessed to have in our society.

It’s not possible that you could attract the opportunity and desire to own a business out of nowhere. Whether you’re aware of it yet or not, you can only attract opportunity and desire when you already have what it takes - and when the idea of it feels exhilarating.

In truth, you have already removed the two major work-related stresses that exist. This makes you incredibly awesome.

Work stress #1: you’ve moved on from life as a powerless, worried employee. You’re not constantly expecting to lose your job. You’re not working frantically to get everything done - everything that three people used to do before 2 of them got laid off.

Work stress #2: you’re not worried and unemployed - doing everything possible to get a new job, desperately sending out resumes and hearing nothing back. You aren’t feeling the disappointment of being told that 2043 people have applied for the same position your interviewing for but you “definitely place in the top half.” And if you do manage to find a new job, you’re back living with work stress #1.

Hear this: 95% of all jobs are slavery. Congratulations on your liberation.

Whether you realize it or not, what you said to the universe is: I want responsibility for my income and my satisfaction in work. Then you attracted to yourself the idea of owning a business. If you could only see your angels cheering, clapping, and planning an ongoing series of astounding “coincidences” and unexpected good fortune on the road ahead.

So stop thinking like a slave. Your top responsibility as a small business entrepreneur is to do whatever it takes to remember that you are powerful and the universe always responds to you in a loving and generous way.

Your success is all around you. Look for, acknowledge and celebrate success in any area of your life. Too often, we focus on what we don’t have yet and completely overlook what we do have. I

When you change your focus even a little bit, you quickly step into the flow of success.

Want Free Publicity? Create a Fact Sheet

Friday, March 12th, 2010

The best way to get free publicity is to send a press release to the media. But keep in mind, a press release is meant to be a basic pitch to get journalists interested in your story idea. It contains the hook of the story and some basic information. Sometimes you need to give reporters and show bookers a little more information to seal the deal.

For this reason, many people who are serious about getting publicity create what is called a press kit, which may include, among other items, a photo, a list of suggested questions and a fact sheet.

One of the key tools that publicists and media-savvy entrepreneurs use is the fact sheet. Fact sheets are easy to create, all you have to do is write down a list of facts that pertain to your press release.

Let’s say that your are a real estate broker or agent. You might want to create a list that contains such items as the following:

Median price that homes sell for in your town.

Media price a year ago, six months ago

An indication of the average length of time a house in your town is on the market this year vs the same time period last year.

You might also want to list some facts about your company, especially if you’re beating the competition. Some of the things you can include might be:

The number of homes you’ve sold this year or the average per month

The average number of homes sold by all the realtors in your area

Number of years in business

The number of agents that work out of your office

One of the many good things about fact sheets is that you can create as many different ones as you like, each of which can support a specific press release. Use them well and you will be able to get free publicity on a consistent basis. Just remember what the used to say in the old “Dragnet” movie and the TV show before that, “Just the facts, ma’am.

Attraction Marketing Grows Your Business in Tough Times

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

John F. Kennedy’s statement “A rising tide lifts all boats” perfectly describes the boom years of the economy. Throughout the ’00s you really didn’t have to do much to have an OK business. But what about in today’s receding tide? Fortunately the recession won’t take all boats down with it — only the leaky ones. Use attraction marketing to build your business, especially in tough times. Start with these three strategies.

#1 - Contact your customers more often.

If you have an email list, contact people at least once a week. Don’t make it just about selling. Your customers also appreciate articles, tips and useful information. Worried that too many emails will cause them to opt out? If your messages are valuable, people appreciate them — except for those who probably were not going to buy anyway. Overall, good email communications strengthen your attraction marketing.

Some businesses also use postcards effectively, sending one every 4-8 weeks. Be sure to promote something interesting each time: a special sale, a limited number of free consultations. You can also direct people to your website to pick up a free special report or watch a video of a happy customer using your product.

Use Facebook or Twitter, and set up a regular schedule. Start with one Facebook post and 1 Tweet a day. Getting started with social networking can be confusing. Create your accounts and just watch what your friends and those you follow do for a while. You’ll soon get the hang of it. The #1 rule to follow in social networking is: don’t make it about selling, make it about relating.

If you don’t have a mailing list, now is the time to start. The list is one of the top assets of any small business. Without a list, you can’t maintain a growth strategy through attraction marketing. Wondering how to start? Writing articles - just like this one - is an excellent list-building tactic.

#2 - Add more value. Instead of offering the same old stuff, innovate. Look for ways to shake things up in all your services and products.

Coaches: now is the time to add teleseminars and information products. Product businesses: now is the time to add training or coaching to help customers use what they buy. Service businesses (office cleaning, pet-sitting): give your customers something extra - create a tip sheet or simple newsletter. Stand out from the me-too businesses. That’s very attractive to success no matter what economy you’re in.

Team up with other businesses for mutual leverage. Think of the neighborhood wine shop creating a wine-tasting evening with cheese and crackers from the gourmet food store around the corner. Or take a gallery that sells artwork - like the one my life partner owns. He sells custom framing that’s outsourced to a framer a few miles away.

Leverage is used by online businesses too. Example: I interviewed 6 other experts on Law of Attraction marketing and created an audio product from it. All of those interviewed then had a new product to offer our mailing lists. That’s the power of leverage. Nearly anyone can replicate this model and develop a product that customers love. Think about experts whose knowledge you can leverage.

#3 - Use your personality when you promote! Luckily for us small business owners, we aren’t required to act distant, like the typical large corporation. Thank goodness! It’s possible to be quirky (but business-like) - and it’s a lot of fun. Open up and tell your customers that you spend weekends riding your Honda Gold Wing. Talk about your favorite charity, the local animal shelter. Or express your enthusiasm for restoring antique furniture. It’s great to write about your vacation, your parakeet, your hometown, your kids.

Always let customers know why you created your business. Express your passion for it. Also create signature stories - and don’t be afraid to repeat them. Stories have tremendous power to attract people. Especially in hard times, people want to do business with with friends. Express yourself.

Tips: 1) Avoid giving too many personal details. 2) Go easy on politics, religion, or other areas of potential controversy. 3) Use personality as a condiment or side dish, keeping your customers’ attention solidly on the main course - your product or service.

When It Comes To Home-Based Businesses, Success Is Spelled MMMM!

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Here is a short list of some of the obstacles, challenges and hurdles involved in running a business from home: building, training and maintaining your downline (if you are in a MLM), constantly playing the role of customer service representative, inventory storage and carrying costs, shipping and returns headaches, order processing….the list goes on and on. Perhaps that is why such a small percentage of people who start a home-based business actually succeed. So what is in the “secret sauce” of success for those entrepreneurs who ARE successful with their home-based businesses?

Mindset. Motivation. Method. Market. We can call it the 4M model of success in home-based business.

First and foremost is having a mindset of success, an unwavering belief that they will accomplish their goals. It does not matter to them if friends, family or loved ones tell them that they are crazy, that they are taking too great a risk, that it will never work. They have a strong, inner belief in themselves and in their vision for their future. They may not know exactly how it will happen or how they will get to that destination, but it’s a forgone conclusion to them that they WILL get there. They also take action. The goals are not achieved just because of their belief and positive thinking, but by taking action on inspiration and taking advantage of opportunities that appear before them.

Motivation is the second ingredient for success in a home-based business. Successful entrepreneurs have a very strong “why” behind their business that provides them the energy to go the extra step, to complete the inconvenient task. This “why” could be for any number of reasons: more time with family, greater income, freedom to travel wherever and whenever or even just a passion for helping others. These know that, while they can get a short-term burst of external motivation from a speaker or seminar, its the internal motivation that will consistently drive them to get out of their comfort zones, to grow and to consistently work on achieving their goals.

There is a Method to the madness! Though it sometimes doesn’t appear this way from the outside looking in, every successful home-based business entrepreneur has a simple, repeatable process that is key to their success. Some opportunities come with a simple process to follow, while others you will have to create your own. There is a saying that goes something like this: Success leaves clues. In the case of the successful home-based business owner, it is the actions, activities and process they repeat on a daily, weekly and monthly basis that are the clues to their success. Finding a method that works for you is key to your success.

You can have an abundance of talent, an unbelievable product line-up, a fantastic marketing plan and dynamite customer service, but without a defined market to promote your product or service to, failure is sure to be the final destination. The successful home-based entrepreneur understands two critical pieces of information when it comes to marketing: 1. Being in a growth market is key if you plan on growing your own business. 2. Focusing in on a specific group within that market makes it much easier to create your marketing message and target your advertising.

There are literally hundreds upon hundreds of home-based business opportunities available to somebody looking to change their career, make more money or wanting to spend more time at home with their family. So which is the best opportunity to pursue? Each individual’s situation is unique, but the best chance for success will include a mixture of Mindset, Motivation, Method and Market. Check in on your own mindset and motivation, be sure to have a proven method and expanding market and you will be well on your way to smelling success with your home-based business. MMMM!!!

Why Some Fail In Home Business When Others Succeed

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

In our current climate there are countless internet business opportunities available and just as many countless people looking to start one. What is the reason that so many of these people fail and so few succeed in home business?

Statistics say that only 3% of people in home business are actually successful. So what happens to that other 97% of people and what makes that 3% different to the rest that they actually achieve success?

There can be many answers to those questions. I will give you a few reasons why the 3% are ahead of the rest.

A successful business person is almost always one who makes a business plan as part of their daily, weekly, monthly and yearly habits. They plan for the short and long term, then they plan what activities they must do to achieve their goals within the allotted time frame. Because this person knows exactly where they are heading in business and in life, they don’t waste time on tasks that aren’t high on the agenda to achieve their goal.

Consistency and persistence is most certainly another winning feature of a successful business person. These people know that they are working to build a real business and they know that it takes time, persistent effort and consistency in every step of everything they do to achieve that final success they are after.

Those 3% know that they cannot give up when the times are tough and that success can be on the near side of failure, just around the corner for them. Whereas the other 97% will often be those who give up when things become too tough and they don’t see the results within the time frame they were hoping for, putting the blame on the venture not working or anything other than themselves. Often they move on to another type of business venture and do exactly the same thing when it too does not work out.

Obviously there are many more reasons why some succeed when others don’t. Another reason can be lack of exposure for their business due to budget constraints. But again, a successful entrepeneur (even one with budget constraints) can see pass that hurdle and overcome it by finding every free marketing method available.

As you have probably worked out now yourself, the most prominent reason that a small business owner fails in their chosen home business is themselves. That’s right. It is the human element of the business usually, not the actual business venture itself. Those 3% are made up of people who just never quit.

Building Cash Machines

Friday, January 1st, 2010

There is this general concept that you must be old when you retire, that retirement at a young age, say thirty, is difficult, if not impossible, for most people to accomplish. This is because retirement, to them, is living off a hunk of cash, which was either saved or inherited.

This is probably the worst way to go about it. It will take you forty years to save up this kind of money, but it could take you less if you make a high salary and you lower your standard of living during retirement.

To see a better way, you must first look at how you are working. What does your work get you? Paychecks. That’s it. Paychecks. You are not building anything. So, you scrimp pieces of paychecks off and hope to accumulate enough by the end of your working years that you can live until you die.

What if you were building something that whole time, say, your own business, which could be a company or a group of investments? You could retire within a few short years! Why? You will have an income that comes in automatically. This is what retirement is all about; retirement is freedom. Retirement is not living off a pile of money.

If you want to be rich, you can keep building these systems. However long you do this process of building is however rich you are going to be. Within five years, you can build a big enough of an income to live a decent life. If you work more, you will be able to afford a higher standard of living forever.

Really, what we are talking about is something everybody should be doing. Go to school, to go college, build assets. It is the next step after college, build assets until you are free. Then, you have your whole life to live to do whatever you please. This does not mean that you will sit around, doing nothing. This means you are free to work on what you want.

Imagine the productivity that would be if everyone was able to do the job he or she loved. If everyone took this route after college, then everybody would be doing jobs that they loved!

Tips For Finding The Best Workable And Useful Bill Organizer For You

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

Looking for an effective system that will allow you to pay your bills and keep track of your income can be a challenge. The type of bill organizer that will work for one person may not be most appropriate for another. Therefore when choosing a bill organizer, you will want to take into consideration your personal preferences and how the system will help you to take control of your debts.

The system that works for you will greatly depend on your personal spending habits. Some people have never kept track of their bills and are use to having money when they want it. Other people have lived very frugally and keep track of their debts and income very carefully. For individuals who have been victims of the economic downturn, there may have been a change in income levels that necessitates a change in the way that bills are handled.

If you have never kept track of spending, you are probably facing a challenge in getting your bills under control. Perhaps you were used to getting one lump amount of money each month and paying all of your bills. Now, you are getting checks on a weekly basis and may find that bills are slipping through the cracks.

Gathering all of the bills that are coming in and centralizing them will be a big help in organizing your bills. Keeping a journal or worksheet of the bills, amount due, date due, and balance owed, will allow you the opportunity to both keep track of your bills and re-prioritize them. A lot of people find that using a computer program that is designed for bill organization is extremely helpful.

When you have a home business, it is important to keep separate organizers for your personal and business expenditures and bills. The organizer that you keep for your business can contain important tax information and, if you have a scanner, you can scan receipts into a file for your receipts. This will make filing taxes much easier.

When you add a space for savings or other expenses, you will be able to “pay” yourself savings each month. This will be very helpful when an unexpected expense occurs or you want to save for a vacation. When you are using and sticking to a bill organizer system, you will find that there will be very few surprise bills once you have all of them in your organizer.

A bill organizer can be very helpful in improving your credit score. By transferring the debts from your credit history onto your bill organizer you can begin paying off debts that are negatively impacting your score. This is an easy and painless way to take care of bills that are keeping your from qualifying for large purchases.

Matching the best bill organizer to your personal preferences will be important. When you have selected an organizer that is functional and meets your needs, you will need to make a commitment to follow the system and keep it accurate and up to date. When the organizer is used properly, bills do not pop up unexpectedly and you have savings when an emergency occurs.

To get the best supervision device for your bills, you should get premeditated with a bill organizer system. Dont forget forget to pay your bill or miss calculate your bills.

Conflicting Mindsets

Friday, December 4th, 2009

This article is about building a business, a financial empire. If you are looking into building a business, it is already assumed that: you have adequate emergency savings, you have adequate precautions against catastrophes such as insurance, you are saving on a regular basis, and you are self-employed or have some part-time job where you work on your own.

If your life resembles the above, you are prepared to build a business. You absolutely must be self-employed, full or part-time. Technically, self-employed people own a business, but forget this notion. For your purposes, self-employed people do not own a business; they own a job. If they owned a business, it would work for them; they would not be working in it.

Being a job owner, however, is not a bad thing at all, but a great thing. In fact, you need to be one in order to start building a business; you cannot build a financial empire through an employer you work for.

Building a business is different from building a job. The mindset of a job-builder is something like, “I want to get all this done, but I need help. I’ll hire people to do the work that I cannot, and I’ll do as much of the work myself as I can; the more work I do, the more money I make.”

The business owner, however, would be thinking, “I will do as little work as I can, because I want to hire out everything. I will need to do work at first to get the job done, but I will continually hire out the work as the business earns money. I will even use my personal money as much as I can. I will not make any money, but that is okay, because I will make a lot of money someday; and, during that someday, I will not be working.”

So, do not think about what you could be putting in your pocket if it were not spent on an employee. It should be exciting to you to see the earnings from the business get reinvested back into itself. If a lot of money was coming out of the business into your wallet, you would be alarmed at the fact it was not going back in to hiring more people!

The mindset of a person who builds jobs is very different from one who builds businesses. One is not superior to the other, but one will give you freedom while the other will trap you into work.
