Is There A Difference Between Home And In-Office Teeth Whitening?

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

People with whiter teeth have a higher self-esteem and find it easier to work with other people, some may say they are easier going because they are at ease with mingling and conversing with people. Surely you have run into people like this and just the same people who are shy and do not want to open themselves up to other people because they might be suffering from very low self esteem partially because of their stained teeth.

Look no further than this article for great information on getting whiter teeth. You have basically two options: You can go into the dentist office and get teeth bleaching or you can do home teeth whitening. If you are not sure which option will best suit you, read on.

Bleaching agent strength. One of the primary differences between home products and in-office treatment is that the latter makes use of products that are of higher concentration. Home products contain 10 percent carbamide peroxide, which is equivalent to about 3 percent hydrogen peroxide. The in-office bleaching products, on the other hand, utilize 15 to 43 percent of hydrogen peroxide. If you do the simple math, you can easily see that the in-office products are more effective.

Speed of bleaching process. Treatment done in the dentist’s clinic gives quicker results because aside from the high concentration bleaching product applied on the patient’s teeth, the dentist also makes use of a special light and/or a laser to accelerate the whitening process. In-office bleaching treatments would give significant results after a session that lasts from 30 to 60 minutes. While you can see some initial changes in the color of your teeth after you use the home product for several days, significant results would be achieved after several weeks.

Cost. Where cost is concerned, the home products are of course a lot less expensive, as they only cost from $20 to $100. The in-office bleaching procedure can be a staggering $300 to $500 per session. This factor makes home products the better option if you are tight on the budget or if you want to save money. Online, you would be able to browse through different stores selling teeth whitening products at very affordable prices. Just make sure that you pick a reliable store that sells only the highest quality of products to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

Protection for your teeth and gums can be a great concern. . In the office setting, the dentist applies a gel on the gum tissue or a rubber shield to slide over your teeth to protect the gums and oral cavity from bleaching effects. Over-the-counter teeth bleaching products usually do not come with protective wear.

If you are in a hurry in-office bleaching does have more advantages than home products. However, it is important to remember that over-the-counter products are also effective and safe, plus you do not have to spend much on the treatment. So the choice is yours, it might just come down to time and money, either way get started today and enjoy those beautiful white teeth.

Know You Can, Don’t Think You Can

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

A wise soul once said that that which holds you back, is not what or who you are, but what or who you THINK you are. When the little guy doesn’t know he is little, he can do big things. Think big in order to win big, take risk if you have to. Don’t hold back for fear of failing, storm ahead. Life is all about risks and failures. They exist to teach you stuff that you cannot learn otherwise. It is human nature to make mistakes; one will have no need to learn how to get up if one doesn’t need to fall. But what if such a person falls, then what?

Those poor souls who always tip-toe cautious, can never experience the thrill of real success. Winners know themselves and have faith in their abilities. Going through problems is like boot-camp for them. Every little punch is warm-up for the big match. Flex your muscles and remove the barriers. That’s how warriors work out. Don’t fiddle over a lost battle, go win the war. After a while the problems will become miniscule for you and you could swat them like flies.

You will learn many valuable things that will aid you ahead. In the end you are either a winner or a loser and that’s how it is. What one achieves is not the major factor in determining winners from losers. It’s something else.

Winners can take a beating. Each setback is just further motivation to walk ahead stronger till the reach the end. Being brave is most important, because those who can’t risk it don’t reach anywhere worth reaching ever. Like tenacity, your resolve and drive to do anything. You become ultra focused and goal-oriented in order to do something. You don’t have to become manic and obsess over a task; a little each day goes a long way.

With little done each time and each day, you can get very ahead. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Take the setbacks in your stride. Know that you cannot control everything. Bad people are there and you will face them and have to deal with them. Bad things will happen as they happen to everyone regardless of any status. If you obsess over the things you cannot do then you will forget to do the things you can. Keep emergency plans as life is very unpredictable. Who knows what lies ahead and thus one must keep ready and prepared for any eventuality.

The only thing sometimes between winning and losing is that winners know they can win. It is amazing but true, when you know you can, you just do it. Never quit, never bow down to adversity, never compromise, make the required sacrifices, put in the effort, time and money and you will surely be there.

Know that you can, if you believe and have faith, you will never question circumstance or your abilities, but always trudge on through even the muck. The best are there because they worked harder than others. It takes a lot to be the best and beat the rest… If success were easy everyone would be unsuccessful as everyone would be the same. Test yourself and know your aptitude, set realistically assessed goals and then do everything necessary to achieve them. Keep rowing whether the tide is in favor or against and you will cross the biggest oceans.

Every attempt will build confidence and grow you from inside out. Every fall will teach you a better method of getting right back up. As long as the persistence longs, as long as your spirit can bludgeon fortune’s blows right back, you will keep the hopes alive and achieving success will be possible. Your strength keeps growing, and it is never too late to start. So start right away.

Looking At Ways On How To Improve Self Esteem

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

One thing that we all learn at an early age is how to interact with others and because we are human and possess a bevy of emotions and esteem building raw materials, how those other humans react to us is all important in constructing our feelings toward ourselves. We learn that it is important to be a good listener and treat others fairly, and very definitely the way our parents treated us as infants and then children played a big part in our formation of our picture of ourselves and our feelings of self worth.

The reverse is also true—those of us that were made to think of themselves as worthless, or not measuring up to family standards, or just plain stupid; grew up with the idea that they were losers and would never make the grade. This feeling of low self esteem can be a major stumbling block for some folks, and they spend much time and money trying to learn how to improve self esteem so they can live with themselves and do something positive with their lives.

The movers and shakers of the world are those who believe that they can move mountains if they only put their mind to it, because they are endowed with a positive self esteem that motivates them to take on all kinds of challenges with the idea that they will come out on top. They learned at an early age, that they were special, and kept improving on the factors that keep reinforcing how to improve their self esteem, so the reaction they get from the folks around them is always positive and they are folks that others want to associate with.

The Golden Rule is a great motivator for everyone to remember, because it embodies a large factor in what makes people tick in their interactions with each other. If you treat others as you would want them to treat you; with respect, understanding, genuine interest in what they had to say and their ideas; then they will usually respond in kind with you and as a result you feel very positively about yourself in that response and your self esteem is bolstered. People who are driven, know what they want out of life and go after it, and in the course of their lives treat others fairly; are those that others want to be associated with because they exude success.

Getting hung up on how people look and first impressions making decisions for you is a stumbling block that a lot of people suffer from; and getting past this hurdle is critical for those who want to learn how to improve their self esteem. If your core values are in place, you know what is right and wrong, and you treat others fairly in your dealings with them, then you will see a very positive response from them in what you have to say and as a result, your inner feelings toward yourself will expand in a positive manner and so will your self esteem. If we could all be more human in our dealings with each other and less negative, we would all possess good self images and the world would be a vastly different place.

As we start out in life, we are a blank slate on which everything that defines who we are and will be later in life is imprinted, happening by happening. If the majority of those happenings are positive, then you are blessed with a very positive image of yourself and you project that to others around you, who respond in like fashion. Similarly, if your blank slate is covered by slurs and negativity and you grow up feeling you are worthless and wish you had never been born, then that slate is going to need some serious cleaning and work to get you on the path to a healthy self image and self esteem, so you feel that you are special and good, and have something to offer the world.

Success in life is measured by several different factors, and a positive self esteem is essential to reaching those goals that define success. One of the first things someone must do in order to progress upward and onward, is to learn how to improve his/her self esteem and then use that knowledge to make things happen for the better. Folks with a good self image and lots of positive self esteem go farther and faster than those that are held back by fear, insecurity, and feelings of ineptness or inability to perform because those folks see themselves as losers rather than winners.

A Short How To Guide On Developing Self Esteem

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

Ever wonder why some people are just naturally gregarious and happy around other people, like to be with others and always seem to have a plan for their lives; while others seem to be unhappy all the time, cannot seem to get all their ducks in a row, and never seem to make anything of themselves. Well, a lot of that has to do with developing self esteem and being able to be comfortable with who you are and feeling positive about yourself and your ability to interact with others.

The most clear definition of what self esteem is, is that it is the feeling of self worth that comes from someone’s positive or negative beliefs about whether or not they are valuable. There are two sides to the proverbial coin, one being the positive side where a person feels positive about himself and whether or not he has worth to others; and then there is the negative side where the opposite is true, the person feels he lacks any worth at all and thinks he is a zero in most folks’ eyes.

Succeeding in life as we know society today, depends on developing self esteem and your sense of self worth in a positive light. Most feelings of self esteem, negative or positive, usually develop from the influences of your parents and how they regarded you as an individual; were you the apple of their eye and thus felt very positive about yourself, or were you criticized all the time for your behavior and called down as a dolt and told you were too stupid to make anything of yourself, simply because they had trouble showing love to you and kept you at arms’ length.

Now that’s some powerful stuff; to grow up feeling that you were a mistake and not wanted by your parents thus producing very strong feelings of negative self worth and self loathing; or being touted as the best thing that ever happened to your parents and given every opportunity to make the most of yourself while being patted on the back constantly and consequently you grow up developing positive self esteem and feeling there is nothing you can’t do.

In developing self esteem, a person with a positive feeling of self worth is usually a go-getter and excels at most anything he/she tries to do. They are sure of themselves and have lots of energy and spirit, usually are extroverted and take on lots of responsibilities because they want to see things done and done right. The opposite is true of someone with low or negative self esteem. That person is quite often an introvert and recoils from social situations where he must interact with others. He/She will shy away from taking responsibility and usually misses out on opportunities for improvement because they just cannot cope with having to deal with other people. Also they have trouble setting goals and reaching them because they feel that they are just not capable so they don’t try.

Finding the even keel in our lives is hard for many of us, and developing self esteem can play a big part in that search. One thing to keep in mind is that to develop a positive self image, you must stop talking about yourself in a negative manner because you are what you think and say, and if you tell other people and yourself often enough that you are worthless and a drip, guess what; they start to believe it because you say it so often. Well, stop doing that, and sweep all those negative thoughts about yourself right out of your mind; replace them with thoughts of what you can do well, and what it is that is good about you and concentrate on that. You are just as good as anyone else alive on this earth, you have plenty to offer in areas that other people cannot excel in; so think about that and tell yourself that in the mirror every morning when you are getting ready for your day. Believe in what you’re saying and you can make it a reality if you do it and say it often enough.

An integral part of developing self esteem is building up your self confidence and feeling good about just who it is you are. Start making small decisions here and there and stick by your decisions, do it over and over again until it starts to feel right and you can hear that little voice inside you telling you that you are doing the right thing, and keep going. Once you get to that point, things get easier and you will feel much more positive about your abilities and slowly the positive image you are trying to solidify will be there. Remember that you cannot please the whole world, and there will always be someone who is unhappy with what you think or do; but don’t get worked up over it, keep on going and getting better and more positive and stronger, and soon you will feel very positive about being the person you are and who you are. Developing self esteem is not easy for most people, but it is so rewarding when it is done right and has a positive outcome.

All You Wanted To Know About Developing Self Esteem And Then Some

Friday, August 14th, 2009

Developing self esteem can make you or break you when it comes to succeeding in life and society today as we know it. Those of us who are blessed with a sense of self worth and positive self esteem seem to have the world on a string and just seem to be able to pull off anything they put their minds to, while there are plenty of us who can’t get out of our own way because we have a completely negative self esteem and feel like we are losers, we will never be able to do anything right or be a success in life, and no one wants to know us.

What exactly is self esteem. To define it literally is to say that it is the feeling of self worth that stems from a person’s positive or negative beliefs about being valuable. We are all familiar with the feeling of negative self worth when you feel like nothing you do or say is worth anything and no one wants to hear what you have to say, or any of your ideas. Then you have on the flip side of the coin, the folks who are so positive about their outlook that they forge ahead and create ideas and take chances and excel at whatever they do because they feel positively about their own self worth.

The lack of developing self esteem at an early age and having it remain positive throughout life, is a major undertaking for a lot of people, especially those who have developed a negative self image and have to counteract that before they can start to build a positive one. Folks troubled by negative self esteem usually are very introverted people and do not like to mingle with or socialize readily with other folks. They feel they are worthless inside and have nothing to offer society, so they remain unfulfilled and have problems setting and reaching goals. They have no desire to shoulder responsibilities, and usually let opportunities pass them by because they feel they are not worth anything. Whereas the person with a positive self image is almost the exact opposite; he is gregarious and loves to socialize with others, because he feels positive about himself and what he has to offer; and he will usually take on a lot of responsibilities just to make sure that things get done the right way. Other people gravitate to someone with a positive self image, and that serves as reinforcement for the person that he is wanted and has something to offer that other people want.

In developing self esteem, the first thing you should undertake is to build confidence in yourself and increase your self worth. Take the plunge, and start making decisions over and over again; and soon you will find that there is a little tingly voice inside of you that lets you know when you are on the right track. It’s a little feeling that crops up when you are making a decision about something that seconds the vote for you and says silently to you…”this is the right decision, go for it”. And do what feels right for you, not for the rest of the family or the rest of the world….just what is right for you; and stop trying to please everyone. That is a futile pursuit, and will only help to solidify your negative feelings about yourself when you can’t please everyone; it’s an impossibility. When you do something that turns out to be the right thing, reward yourself for a job well done. You took the first step and you did it correctly, so acknowledge that and pat yourself on the back.
